Expecting Continued Service After the Sale

Dasha & Joe bought a fabulous top-level condo with amazing vaulted ceilings. Everything went smoothly with their home search, the offer and processing the loan. Closing day was a celebration! Flash forward a couple of weeks. The buyer’s mail was piling up in the mailbox because they didn’t have access to open it.

What?

They couldn’t get any of their bills or important documents! They were beginning to panic because they had gone the rounds with the post office and the homeowners association and couldn’t get access. Everyone was passing the buck. I had called Dasha to follow up on their recent purchase and she let me know what was going on. This was a huge issue! We really needed to get in touch with the seller.

Unfortunately, this seller was ghosting us. So, in the meantime, my husband and I went to the property and found a way to break into their own mailbox and got their mail. Shhh! Don’t tell anyone!. (Seriously though, we had done our research and found out that the mailbox wasn’t owned by the post office. It is not a federal offense to help them get their own mail. So, don’t go reporting us!) When we finally talked to the seller we found out that the previous owner had a property manager who had changed the key entry to the mailbox to a 3-digit code lock.

Once we were able to talk to the right person voila! We got the right code and all was right with the postal service! We are always willing to help our clients for years to come. Our goal is not the sale, our aim is to create a relationship with our buyers and sellers that lasts a lifetime!
