When Life Timing Matters More Than Market Timing

Everyone talks about timing the market.
Should you wait?
Should you buy now?
Should you hold off and see what rates do?
Those are real questions. But sometimes, they are not the most important ones.
Sometimes the real timing is life.
That was the case for this couple.
They were approaching the end of their lease, and they did not have the luxury of waiting. They needed to make a decision: renew where they were or find a home.
The challenge was that inventory was incredibly tight.
Nothing was coming on the market. Week after week, there just was not much to look at. When you are already on a deadline, that kind of market can feel especially stressful.
And this was not just any deadline.
She was expecting a baby.
Then on February 22nd, a home hit the market.
We moved immediately.
They saw it right away. We wrote the offer quickly. There were two competing offers, so this was not a situation where we had time to sit back and think about it. We needed to act, and we needed to act strategically.
And it worked.
They got the house.
We closed on March 17th.
She was due the very next week.
That timing meant everything.
It gave them time to move in.
Time to unpack.
Time to get organized.
Time to prepare.
Time to breathe before their world changed.
That is what people miss when they only talk about market timing.
Yes, market timing matters.
But life timing matters too.
Sometimes the goal is not to wait for perfect conditions.
Sometimes the goal is to make the right move at the right moment for your life.
This was one of those moments.
They did not just get a house.
They got a place to bring their baby home to.
That kind of timing cannot always be planned.
But when it comes together like that…
that’s when the stars align.
